Mount Holly Monthly Meeting was established in 1776 by Burlington Quarterly Meeting out of Burlington Monthly Meeting. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the Meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. A quarterly meeting for Gloucester and Salem was established in 1682 at a general meeting held in Salem. In 1794, Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting was created out of division of this quarterly meeting. The resulting meeting was then known as Salem Quarterly Meeting.
